Gray Jeep

Again we need a better name and I am open to suggestions.
Gray jeep is a couple years newer coming in at a 1992 this jeep is in far better shape. It has all it windows and doors!
I drive this jeep regularly and wheel it often although it is not a daily driver. It has the 5 speed manual and a rather healthy 4.0.
When i first got this jeep a Rustys 6.5″ lift was just freshly installed. However there was a few issues with a few things. Ultimately it ended up with a swapped rear axel a Dana 44 HD. This unit has a monster aluminum housing, the bearing caps are about the same size as a Dana 60, It has be given a set of 4.88 gears and a ARB air locker.
the transfer case needed to be removed and be converted with a slip yolk eliminator output. I dropped the t-case and had a double cardan driveshaft for the rear. The front is a Dana 30 and we swapped the gears in it also to 4.88. that front axel wont stay long I have something special for it.
The plan: Gray jeep is going to be a bit more intense. I don’t think the Rustys kit will stay long. Its anther short arm kit and it just right at its’s very limits for the lift height. I can sell this kit discounted if anyone is interested but I would still recommend converting the front to long arm, especially if you want to be taller than a 4-5″ of lift. When work starts on this Jeep it’s going to be a dramatic change of almost everything. I’m thinking triangulated 4 link front and rear. We will keep the rear axel and for the front I found an axel out of a modern JL Jeep wrangler and if you know those come with an Eaton e-locker. It’s also getting some armor and re-geared. there will be a full build on it as well.
We are planning on coil over conversations front and rear. It’s going to be an absolutely ton of work and I’m sure we are all going to learn a lot along the way.
Even though this is a vehicle that I use regularly it is also subject to sale. If you are interested please reach out and lets talk.
