Update #2 XJ center console

December 4, 2022 By Nick Viggo

I now have our first couple of parts being laser cut. That is quite exciting, however it has made me realize that if I continue down this path the sale price is likely going to be quite high. over $600 I suspect. I feel like that’s a bit high and I would like to do better. I have been working on reducing cost and most of it comes down the outside laser work.

To keep costs down and speed up development work in-house laser cutting is the way to go. That presents a few other problems. like the need for industrial space, bending, and cutting equipment. That would need to be bought to support the business. Nv-offroad is very new and we don’t have much of a cash flow yet the thought of so many expenses is quite intimidating. We have the drive and desire to grow quickly however financials can be a real limiting factor. I will bring this to market but I’m just not sure how fast things will happen. Being at the mercy of other laser houses lead time and frankly, any mistakes waste a ton of time and money.

I did look into kickstarter. It’s quite expensive, just there fees add what looks like about 10% to the project. Has anyone else used them? What was your experience?

Let’s put our heads together and see what ideas we can come up with to speed up this build.
